Get inspired with our best wildlife stories

To truly experience a destination, we must acknowledge the wildlife that call it home. From the endless plains of the Serengeti to Canada’s rocky coasts, there’s a whole wild world around us waiting to be explored.

Promoting ethical wildlife encounters has always been a top priority for Lonely Planet and now, more than ever, we’re renewing our focus on conservation, humane and eco-friendly experiences, and sustainable travel. We believe seeing wildlife thriving in its natural habitat is a powerful motivator to preserve the environment, whether that's in person or from the comfort of home.

Our warehouse has made the decision to move to an emergency Social Distance Operating (SDO) model. What this means is that we are focusing our efforts on shipping out orders for high demand titles and latest releases first. We do expect this to change in the coming weeks, but in the meantime you might find you receive two parcels. It will also take the reduced warehouse crew 2-3 days to get it out the door. From there, we'd ask you to be mindful of restrictions that might be impacting local carrier services as they manage the current situation as best they can.
