As the COVID-19 pandemic nearly ground air travel to a halt, lower carbon emissions might've been a silver lining to a very cloudy 2020. Even if you don't consider yourself a dark tourist, it's natural to be intrigued by sites associated with death and tragedy. Concentration camps, disaster memorials and other dark tourism sites preserve the evidence of humankind's worst cruelty. This iconic California road trip is on hold after part of Highway 1 washes away
A large section of California's Highway 1 has collapsed into the Pacific Ocean after heavy rain from a winter storm caused serious damage. Nobody was injured as the road had been closed days earlier in case of mudslides and rockslides.

A serious Frida Kahlo exhibit is coming to Chicago this summer
This summer, the most comprehensive Frida Kahlo exhibit in the past 40 years is coming to Chicago. Originally scheduled to take place last year, the exhibition was postponed due to the pandemic but will go ahead this summer at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art and the McAninch Arts Center in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
