It’s summer Down Under and World Pride is heading to the Southern Hemisphere for the first time in its history. I repeat…the first time in history! And I am so grateful and proud to be part of this community and that I live here.
It’s a no-brainer that sun-soaked Sydney, Australia’s most unashamedly ostentatious city, is set to host thousands of fervent local and international revelers seeking a glittery good time from February 17 until March 5.
Pride festivals are more than just a colorful parade – they’re a fundamental celebration of community. And as we within the community know, representation matters. Regardless of where they’re staged or how grand they may be, these events are joyous celebrations of who we are and of those whose shoulders we stand on. They’re also a friggin’ amazing amount of fun.
And seriously…with headliner acts like Kylie Minogue, the Sugababes, Eurovision Song Contest winner Conchita Wurst and first-ever transgender Grammy winner Kim Petras set to rock our harborside city, Sydney is set to erupt in rainbow energy and love.
Everyone’s welcome – so come and join us…
Chris Zeiher, Senior Director Sales & Marketing (based in Australia)
