This week: Give me the keys. I'll drive | It’s warming up on the east coast, and I just returned from Lake Sebago in Maine after a joyously raucous family wedding weekend. We touched down in Portland and somehow ended up with a Tesla. We cruised (and basically ate) our way through the city. From there we took our time puttering along US-302 (also called The Roosevelt Trail). We passed through Babb’s Covered Bridge, pulled over to grab a cone at the Ice Cream Dugout in Windham, and took a long walk along the path to the beach in Tassel Top Park. Before heading home, we drove through Kennebunkport to eat one last lobster roll. When you’re driving, every detour is an adventure with undiscovered treasures around each corner. So, here’s to the open road and its endless possibilities. Check out the Lonely Planet shop and our Road Trip collection, including Epic Road Trips of Europe and Epic Road Trips of the Americas, for more inspiration. – Brekke Fletcher, Senior Director of Content | | | Get in on the action this June | | | Where to to get your Pride on this month 🏳️🌈 | In search of the very best cities welcoming the LGBTIQ+ community?
